Hanging with Faith

Mailande's friend, Faith, came over yesterday and they had a blast together. Mailande showed off her new toys, Faith fed Mailande and pushed her around in the stroller, and when Mailande got tired, they sat on the floor together and read books.



Mailande sure is lucky to have a good friend like Faith.

Christmas break

Mailande is having a blast spending the mornings and nights with Daddy and the days with Mommy. I sure wish I had 2 weeks off more often. Luckily, I'm home now to watch Mailande as she is changing everyday. When did my baby start looking so much like a big kid?

8 months old

On Friday morning, Mailande started crawling.
On Saturday, I swear she said "mom" again and again. Dad doesn't believe it and she won't say it around him (I think she's trying to spare his feelings, because she hasn't yet figured out how to say "dad").
Today, she is 8 months old! I can't believe how big my little girl is getting. Could someone please tell her to slow down, she is growing all too fast.

Santa lives in Jacksonville?!?

While driving home this morning, Mailande and I drove past a convenience store where Santa happened to be hanging out. Mailande was a huge fan, although a little confused by all the facial hair.

Sneaking presents

Aunt Carey sent some homemade goodies and Mom couldn't resist. We tore the package open and had a photoshoot (doing the best we could with the timer and some self portraits).

Dairy Allergy....Who?!? Me!

Mommy has been experimenting with dairy again since Thanksgiving. We thought we were in the clear, however, Mailande's poor little body is beginning to revolt. We are once again, dairy free.

Happy Holidays

Its December and we are all getting excited about the holidays. Today Mailande got to go shopping for her very first Christmas tree. We are setting it up today and looking forward to a very Merry Christmas with our families.
In other news (and a shameless plug), Mommy has officially started McKeeby Photography. Things have been up and running since Thanksgiving and my December calendar is already quickly filling up. We are all so impressed with the success we are seeing in such early days and are so thankful for everyone's support (especially daddy's, who has been a big help while mom is out on shoots or home processing pictures and Mailande, who is always such a great practice model).

Hanging with mommy

Mommy has a 4 day weekend because of Veteran's day and we are having so much fun together, shopping, playing outside, reading books, singing and dancing. I wish Mommy and Daddy had a 4 day weekend every week.

6 months

We went to Mailande's 6 month checkup the other day (a little late-more like 6 1/2 months) and we had another happy visit with the Doctor (until the shots came).
Height: 25 inches
Weight: 14lbs 13oz (much smaller than we expected)

Mailande is now considered to be in the 25th percentile for her weight. When did our little chunker become so small? While at the appointment, Mailande surprised us all by grabbing mommy's hands and pulling herself into a standing position. The Dr said that is an 8 month skill. Way to go little lady! When we got home, Mailande had a rough night, we assumed from the shots, but Tuesday night when Mom got home, she found one teeny tiny little tooth poking through her bottom gums. Prepare yourself....toothy pictures should be coming soon.

Cousin Nick Comes to Visit

Buddy Walk

On Saturday we joined the Veres family at the Down Syndrome Buddy Walk. The weather was beautiful and there were a lot of supporters. We had a great time walking with our friends for such a great cause.
