Mailande times 2

Last weekend, the , our friend, Mailande Moran came to visit.













Joel, myself, and the Mailandes had a wonderful time hanging around the house, going to the beach, out to eat, and biking around the neighborhood.

5 weeks old

Mailande went to the Doctor today and is 9lbs 7.5oz, up almost a whole pound from her last visit 2 weeks ago. She is in the 75 percentile for her age and the doctors seem really pleased with her growth. They said her vision looks good and we should expect to see some social smiling soon. We can't wait ;)
Dr also said Mailande needs to spend some time outside to make sure she gets her Vitamin D, so mommy decided to have a little outdoor photo shoot today. Mailande thought it was way too bright out.

4 weeks

Today I am 4 weeks old and after being told by all her friends, Mom is finally starting to admit that I look like a mini version of my dad. Its a good thing she picked such a handsome husband. As I'm getting closer to being 1 month old my routine is starting to change and I am spending much more time awake. In fact, mom was sick this weekend so I napped all day with her and then we stayed up ALL night long. Dad went on vacation in the guest room and mom and I had our first slumber party. It was a lot of fun, but now I am sooo tired!!Good thing its a rainy day. Mom and dad are watching movies and I'm settling in for a big nap.

Fussy Gus

Mailande is such a good baby and rarely ever cries (although she is testing out her vocal cords a little more this week), however we do have frequent episodes with a sleepy baby who wants to be mad. She scrunches up her face, looks like she is about to scream, whimpers, and then falls back asleep. What a silly little girl.

3 weeks old

On Friday Mailande went to the doctor and she weighed in at 8lbs 9oz. She gained back all of her weight and even gained a few ounces. The nurse said she is in the 75th percentile. She also recommended that Joel give her a bottle once a day/every other day so mommy could leave the house occasionally. Joel gave her her first bottle today and she took to it without any problems. We can't believe how fast our little girl is growing up.

Happy Mother's Day

We had a very exciting and exhausting weekend celebrating Tommy and Amber's wedding, so we kept Mother's Day pretty simple. Breakfast with the Dorns, brunch with the Foxes, and then we drove home and spent some quality time together napping. I love my little girl!

Wedding Weekend

Tommy and Amber got married this weekend. The wedding was absolutely gorgeous and we are so happy to officially have Amber in our family now.Mailande proved to be as much of a party animal as her dad and slept through the entire wedding. She even slept through mom dragging her on the dance floor. That may be a new tactic Joel tries at the next wedding. Sorry honey, can't dance, I'm sleeping.
